Goodbye to Country Home

The most recent Country Home magazine was just delivered with some sad news - they are closing their doors and will no longer publish the Meredith magazine.  I'm so sad - I love Country Home!!  They always have such fun and inventive design ideas.  Now, I'm going to have to solely rely on Meredith's Better Homes and Gardens, which is fine, but I truly enjoyed receiving both magazines :(  So, here's to you Country Home - you will be missed!!

Stephanie & Brent - 05.24.08 {Solon, Ohio}

Stephanie came to me as a friend of a friend when she asked me to create a stationery set for her and Brent's Memorial Day weekend wedding.  The poor girl was SO busy with her job and a move that I worked a lot with her sister and best friend - it worked out beautifully though!!

Stephanie and Brent even decided to have the rockin' Brandy J and Sticky of Brandy J Photography capture their special day - we we SO excited to get to work together.  Check out some of Stephanie and Brent's photos on the Brandy J Photography site and blog.

Stephanie and Brent had a gorgeous chocolate, ivory and gold wedding at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church in Lisbon, Ohio with a warm and cozy reception that followed at the Salem Saxon Club in Salem, Ohio.

We created a square natural white linen invitation and RSVP set adorned with a gorgeous corner swirl outline.  The set was enclosed in a chocolate brown interior envelope complimented with natural white linen exterior and RSVP envelopes.  The entire set was finished off perfectly with a hand-stamped golden wax seal on the back of the exterior envelope.  The seal, representing their last name, was an "N" written in Zapfino, the same font their names were written in on the invitation.

We created matching escort cards that doubled as the couples favors, a donation to the guest's choice of three charities.  After the wedding, the couple used thank you notes that coordinated with their wedding day stationery to show their guests their appreciation.

Asia + Domenico | 05.16.08 {Akron, Ohio}

Domenico is my husband's cousin, he and his lovely woman, Asia, asked me to create invitations for their May wedding last year - I was delighted!!  Domenico is an artist so I worked with him throughout the entire design process - it was quite the change of pace to be working with the male in the couple, but it worked out well in the end.  They used deep orange as their main color and accented it with black - the day was absolutely AMAZING!!

Domenico and Asia were married at the GORGEOUS Saint Bernard Catholic Church followed by a fabulous reception at Todaro's Party Center in Akron, Ohio.

Camille & Jacob - 04.26.08 {Lake Lure, North Carolina}

Alright, as promised I am going to show off the awesome photos taken by Brandy J. and Sticky of Brandy J. Photography of the awesome stationery that I have created for my even awesomer (oh yeah, I went there) clients!

First off is Camille & Jacob, our friends from Charlotte, North Carolina and the first couple I ever created wedding stationery for :)  They are two of the kindest people I have ever met in my entire life!  Camille & Jacob came to me shortly after I started baci and asked me to create something special for their day.  We truly started from scratch because they had no idea what they wanted, but after several conversations and a few adult beverages we decided on these gorgeous designs that complimented their day beautifully.

Thanks again, Camille & Jacob, for entrusting me with this important piece of your new lives together!

Camille & Jacob were married at the Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure, North Carolina with a reception following on the resort's Lakeview Restaurant Terrace.

Overflow

This isn't my usual post, but when friends do awesome things they deserve some love!  Our good friend, Jen, (who did my hair for our wedding) dates an AWESOME guy who happens to be an AWESOME rapper.  He goes by Overflow and is the hot bald guy in the video.  F. Dux (pronounced like Dukes) is his good buddy.  Jen is actually in the video twice as well - she's the smokin' blonde holding a wine glass in the club :)

Bachelorette Party & Bridal Shower Weekend

A few weekends ago I went home to celebrate my cousin Casey's Bachelorette Party and Bridal Shower - the parties that my sister, Casey's other bridesmaid, Melissa, and I have been planning for the past month or so.  We had such a great time so I thought I'd share some of the photos my sister took of the festivities.

The Bachelorette Party was kid-friendly so we replaced strippers and shots with games, movies, midnight snacks (LOTS of junk food) and a few beers.
I bought a black t-shirt and made this Bachelorette shirt for Casey to wear throughout the night.
Since it was a Bachelorette Slumber Party we all wore our pajamas.  Our Aunt Gaylea won the Pajama Contest :)
Me, my sister and mom in our jammies!
The, might I say, ROCKIN' shower invitations!!  I absolutely love the rhinestone accent!  These are a sneak preview of my soon-to-come shirley | edith line.
The beautiful bride with her bow bouquet.
The bridal party - me (Bridesmaid - my first time!!), my sister Jami (Maid of Honor - her third time!!), the bride Casey and Melissa (Bridesmaid).
Our handmade chocolate heart favors.
Now for the good part - the dessert!!!  My mom baked cupcakes that we decorated with Valentine's Day and winter-themed details in wedding colors.  They were such a hit!
