So now that my wedding is over, I can share all my details!!!
I wanted to give you some insight on gifts when it comes to weddings. Obviously, I am not an expert and everyone is different--but I wanted to show you what I got and how I decided what to get :)
Bridesmaid Gift:
This was hard only because all of my bridesmaids are different, but I wasn't sure how to go about getting six different gifts. So I stuck with the same gift for everyone. Jewelry is a typical bridesmaids gift, but I found a way to make it special. I had a family friend, Leslie, make the girls (me, mom, and mother-in-law) all jewelry!! It was BEAUTIFUL!!! Along with wooden fans, personalized with Eric and I's name and wedding date. Then I put them both in a wooden incense box (removed the incense obviously, ha) I got from Wal-mart.
Groom Gift:
Okay--so I said the bridesmaid gifts were hard--that was nothing compared to a groom's gift. I like to be creative so I was trying to think of something fun that Eric would use more than once. When Eric and I went to go register for wedding gifts at Menards I remember coming across a wooden cooler and he said he really liked it and, "If we got anything off our list, I hope it's this," (even though he probably forgets saying that, ha). So I did some digging to find different types of wooden coolers, and my Aunt Carolyn helped a huge deal too because she is the one that found this one on amazon.com and could get a GREAT deal!! So my Aunt ordered for me, I payed her back, but I still wanted something personal. Well I remember at my sister's friend, Katie's, rehearsal she got her husband a metal bucket (that you can put drinks in to keep cool) that had The Johnson's on it---and that was a perfect way to personalize it. So I wanted "The Jesse's" on it--but the only thing was, figuring out how to get it on there. Well, luckily, I have a handy man Uncle who traced our last name on it :) And it was perfect!!!
Wedding Helper Gifts:
I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted to get the people that helped me out in a huge way for Eric and I's wedding day. All I knew is I wanted to do something in a mason jar--like a cookie recipe, soup recipe, or fun homemade candy. Mom and I started looking up fall ideas in a jar and came across this---S'mores in a Jar :) It was a huge hit! Mom put the ingredients in a jar, then added a recipe on the outside. I got the S'mores in a Jar for guestbook attendants, bubble passers, readers, and singers.
Hope you enjoyed finding out some of the wedding gifts and how I ended up with those ideas :)
