baci tech | tiny your wedding website url

A Note From baci: We originally published this post yesterday, but the links were broken so we're re-publishing today with the links fixed. Thanks for your patience!

Ever notice when receiving a wedding invitation in the mail (or planning your own invitation) the the wedding website url is so large that it barely fits on the stationery? We spend the time to set up a website and wish for our guests to visit for wedding information and even to RSVP to the reception, but the chances of a typo when entering a long url is exponentially higher than a short, easy url.

Enter tinyurl.com ...

An Example (directly from homepage):

Turn this URL:

http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Wireless-Reading-Display-Globa lly/dp/B003FSUDM4/ref=amb_link_353259562_2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIK X0DER&pf_rd_s=center-10&pf_rd_r=11EYKTN682A79T370AM3&pf_rd_ t=201&pf_rd_p=1270985982&pf_rd_i=B002Y27P3M
into this TinyURL:
http://tinyurl.com/KindleWireless
Which one would you rather cut and paste into your browser? That's the power of TinyURL!

So you may be asking, "Why tinyurl.com?" For those of you on Twitter, you know there are many choices available for url shortening, however, tinyurl is the only one I've encountered that lets you choose your own url keyword. That's right! Your extremely large wedding website url can become your own ... the format would be http://tinyurl.com/yourweddingwebsite.

As always ... Questions, comments, suggestions? (or if you know of another url shortener that lets you choose your keywords) Feel free to contact me: ilario {at} bacidesigner {dot} com or comment on this post.
