Tradition--what does it mean? If you look it up on dictionary.com it has seven different meanings, five related forms, and five synonyms.
These were the top five:
1- handing down of statements, beliefs, legends, customs, information
2- something that is handed down
3- established or inherited way of thinking or acting
4- a continuing pattern of culture beliefs or practices
5- a customary or characteristic method or manner
If you actually read all of these :-) you will realize they all say the same thing, just in a different way. A Tradition is something that has been passed on due to a belief or method.
For weddings there are many traditional things, such as: wearing a veil, not seeing the groom before the wedding, tossing the bouquet (the lucky lady that gets it will be the next to get married), the mother of the bride helping the bride get into her dress, or the father of the bride walking the bride down the aisle. These are all things we think about when planning or even attending a wedding.

However, there are also traditions families make. It could have started years ago at your great- grandmother's wedding or just last year at your cousin's wedding. Things such as: wearing your grandma's favorite pearl earrings, having an Uncle say the prayer before dinner, serving meatballs at your reception, or even the mother of the bride walking her daughter down the aisle.
There are probably hundreds of typical traditions when it comes to a wedding and even thousands of family traditions that have been passed down.
Come back to baci next week and find out what my family has started as tradition!!
Feel free to share your wedding traditions with baci followers, too!!
