Our Home, Re-invasion | Day Two - Master Bedroom, Guest Bedroom + Upstairs Bath

Yesterday, I gave you a taste of what is going on inside the closets of our master bedroom - today, I'll show you the rest of the room, as well as our guest room and upstairs bath.

If you recall, this is what our master bedroom looked like when we bought the house - seriously disgusting.

This is what it looks like today - not a massive change from this, but we have upgraded to a larger bed and added the gorgeous rust colored coverlet and shams.

Next up for the bed/surrounding areas:  getting a new bench (I'm envisioning something in a mustard Ikat fabric, sort of like this), new side tables and lamps. . . to match theses shades I just bought :o)

Here is the beautiful, life changing armoire and dresser (plus Morris, lol!) I recently bought from Ikea.  I'm in love with the soft brown-grey color - combined with the rust, mustard and chocolate (am I hungry?!?) tones in our room it gives off a rich Tuscan feeling.

I also freed up some much needed closet space by hanging my bulky robes and sweater jackets on this pretty bird hook from Hobby Lobby.

And now for the guest bedroom - making it's debut here on baci's blog. . . and guess what?  We still don't have the furniture painted and in the room - we suck :o(  We do, however, have a pretty new Ikea Duvet and Pillowcase Set coupled with a few pretty pillows and a handmade blanket we received as wedding presents.

We also framed the gorgeous vintage handkerchiefs my grandmother gave me. . .

. . . and hung up pretty hooks for guests to hang their towels.  So while we don't have actual furniture in the guest bedroom yet, it isn't all bad ;o)

Another first timer on the blog - our upstairs bathroom!  This room will be getting a much-needed "refreshing" this winter with a new coat of paint and tile in the shower. . . but it certainly works for now.  We used the soft ivory curtain and capiz shell hooks from our last house and updated all of the cabinet hardware with these gorgeous salmon-colored knobs that I mentioned once before.

I also hung the beautiful paintings I bought from a cute little shop while I was working in downtown Charlotte. . .

. . . and we finally covered the hole where a medicine cabinet once was (seriously, who takes a medicine cabinet with them when they move??) with a perfect (and cheap!) mirror from Target.  Those sconces (I totally wrote scones the first time, lol!) will also be tossed out a window when we re-do the bathroom later this year.

I've also bragged about my brown toile curtains once, but here they are again ;o)
