Baci Designs | Kate + Dylan's Reception Styling {Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens - Akron, Ohio}

We're trying super hard to catch up on everything we've missed here on the blog over the past year or so - stay tuned for new posts and loads of stationery and styling goodness :)

To start off the "quest to catch up" we thought it was perfectly appropriate to start with Kate and Dylan's Reception Styling at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron.  Appropriate not only because this week they celebrated their anniversary, but they also welcomed a brand new baby boy!  Kate and Dylan are those clients most people dream of having - they are two of the kindest and most sincere people you will ever come across.

The beautiful images from the day were captured by Kristen Penner Photography, the stunning floral was created by Baumann's Florist and the fabulous "Prompt Guest Books" were done by Kate!

Check out the rest of Kate and Dylan's Wedding Stationery and Welcome Bags here!

Baci Designs | Kate + Dylan's Wedding Stationery + Welcome Bags {Akron, Ohio}

Every once in a while the most perfect clients just appear, seemingly out of thin air - that was the case with Kate and Dylan.  Kate came upon Baci's listing on Google Maps of all places and from the first moment I met her and her sweet mother, a camaraderie and friendship began.  From creating their beautiful letterpress stationery to the coordination of their post-rehearsal party, all the way through the Event Styling of their Big Day - Kate, Dylan and their adorable gem of a son, Ethan, made my time working with them joyous.

Kate and Dylan wanted their wedding stationery to be classy and traditional - so we began with an elegant letterpress suite printed on Crane's Lettra.  Their custom monogram was embossed on the top of the invitation and was the sole impression on the coordinating thank you notes.  We continued the monogram on the custom return address embosser - one of my favorite things to create for clients because it's something they can use for years to come.

The programs and escort cards were flat printed, but perfectly coordinated and complimented with a black satin ribbon.  A fabulous touch for out-of-town guests were the Welcome Bags which we filled with local goodies like yummy Main Street Cupcakes and useful items like bottled water, aspirin and pamphlets for local attractions.  They turned out fabulous and are a great memento for guests!

Wedding Wednesday | Stephanie + Don's Wedding Stationery {Tallmadge, Ohio}

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a couple so very, truly and deeply in love - that was the case with Stephanie and Don!  It made working with the two of them such a joy, especially during Day-of Coordination. . . the tears weren't only flowing from their friends and family :o)  It also didn't hurt that their wedding colors included my favorite - deep, dark purple!

Stephanie knew she wanted some "bling" added to her invitation suite to really portray the glitz guests were going to experience on the wedding day so we started with a silver metallic stock and had it printed in dark purple thermography.  Completing the invitation we attached it to a beautiful clutch-type pocket (which held all the other pieces of the suite perfectly) and added gorgeous amethyst Swarovski Crystals to their "X" monogram.

One of my favorite elements of this design was the custom return address stamp - hand-stamped in silver ink on the dark envelopes.  It was the perfect touch and something wonderful for Stephanie and Don to have for their new home!

We finished off the stationery set with coordinating monogrammed thank you notes - digitally printed on white linen (much easier to write on than the metallic stock) and finished with a beautiful Swarovski Crystal!

Wedding Wednesday | Jami + Eric's Custom Designed Wedding Stationery {Defiance, Ohio}

Having the honor to create stationery for my little sister's wedding day was absolutely amazing!!  Designing gorgeousness for couples is always wonderful, but knowing that you're doing it for someone you love and care for takes it to an entire other level of awesome :o)

When Jami and I sat down to chat about what she was looking for, two things were clear - she wanted to incorporate a monogram and her favorite color, purple.  So to check the first thing off the list, I went straight to the amazing talents of Laura Lavender Calligraphy - Laura is not only a favorite person of mine, but what she does with hand-drawn monograms and calligraphy is to-die-for!  She certainly did not disappoint - the intricate, vintage-esque "EJ" monogram was so beautiful that we incorporated it on to everything we could think of.  And when your older sister owns a stationery and design company there is A LOT of everything when it comes to paper, lol!

We started with a very traditional and elegant invitation suite printed on Ivorystone Classic Laid Stock (something completely unique to Jami and Eric), designed with a touch of that vintage feeling - incorporating the deep purple into the envelopes and finishing them with hand-written addresses.  We also designed gorgeous, tall programs for the wedding ceremony itself.

At the reception, guests were greeted at a table full of crayons and cute pages to color on for the kiddos and cards for the adults to leave notes, advice and well wishes for Jami and Eric.  At the gift table, a purple tulle encased bird cage was adorned with a sign reading "Cards".  Each guest table, in addition to the beautiful centerpieces, had a homemade bottle of wine with a custom made tag and a hand-bent fork holding a sign with little bits of trivia about the couple.  The dessert table, full of homemade goodies, had containers with "Thank You" labels so guests could take the treats home.  Each dessert also had its own custom dessert stick with the name of the goodie (and who made it!) and couple's monogram was pressed into beautiful moss green napkins at the bar.  Place cards told the bridal party where to sit at the head table and the bathroom kit even got a little sign!

We had an amazing time finding ways to incorporate stationery into Jami and Eric's big day and the result was breathtaking!

Wedding Wednesday | Katie + John's Custom Wedding Invitation Suite {Defiance, Ohio}

As you may have noticed, we're making a lot of changes around here (don't you just love it!!!) and in the midst of the clean-up we realized we missed sharing a lot of incredible custom stationery with you all :o(  How so many gorgeous things fell through the cracks we'll never know.  We apologize and are trying to make it up to you all by showing off all the pretty suites with you all now - better late than never, right?

Today we're flaunting Katie and John's (remember their beautiful wedding and adorable baby girl, Mya?) fun monogram wedding suite with you!  We took their KB and JH initials to create the unique monogram block that was continued throughout the suite then used a modern font and layout to accentuate their gorgeous yellow and green color scheme.

I'll never fall out of love with wrap-around labels - they're my favorite and are the perfect compliment to metallic envelopes :o)

baci's babies | Carson Clare

I apologize for my serious slacking on the promised new feature from last year - baci's babies, where we take a look back at past wedding client's big days as they start having babies and sneak a peek at their gorgeous new little ones. I'm beginning a catch up (not ketchup ;) ) phase right now though!!

First off is Miss Carson Clare, born to not-just-wedding-clients-but-friends Jenny and Mike on June 14, 2010 at 10:58 pm weighing in at 5 pounds exactly and 18 inches long. I couldn't pick just one photo of the lovely little lady because she is quite possibly the most adorable baby on the planet!! I just want to squeeze those little cheeks :o)

I couldn't help but share a few other shots of work I've done for Jenny and Mike in the past that will be featured on the new baci site, even though it hasn't quite been revealed yet. Consider this a sneak peek of all the goodness to come!!

2010 National Stationery Show {New York City, New York}

A few weekends ago, Ilario and I took a trip to New York City for the 2010 National Stationery Show. It was such an incredible and inspiring experience!! The stationery show is in it's 65th year and exhibits 900 companies featuring more than 10,000 lines. Here are a few of my favorite finds at the conference:

Quirky Cards by Haute Papier - I love greeting cards that make you laugh!

Bright Souls Collection by Wild Pulp - Educational, eco-friendly cards

Beautiful Thank You Notes by Anna Griffin

Quite possibly the cutest things ever - Little Envelopes Collection by Studio T

And hands down the best favor I came across - "Write from My Heart" Eco-friendly Notepad and Pencil by Kate Aspen

Another wonderful aspect of the stationery show is the opportunity to network and meet so many talented designers and vendors. I was lucky enough to meet Agnes from Blossom Accents, a handmade wedding invitation and stationery design shop located right here in Cleveland. All art and photography is done by Agnes herself - her talent is unremarkable, see her beautiful Gerbera Daisy Flirt Invitation below!

I was also lucky to run into the sweet and southern Allison from Allison R. Banks Designs - the two of us just so happened to be interested in the same letterpress vendor (yes, Ladies, affordable custom letterpress is coming to baci soon!!!!) at the conference and once we got to talking there was no shutting us up, we had so much in common! Allison offers couture hand-designed monograms and calligraphy design. Below are just two examples of her outstanding work!

Allison blessed me with the pleasure of meeting Miss Ginny, owner of The Scribbler, a stationery and gift shop offering custom invitations and stationery located in Alabama. She, too, is sweet and southern, just a joy to be around. These women made my time in the city memorable - it's so nice to sit and gab with people who have the same interests as you! I look forward to working with each of them in the future!!

Wedding Wednesday | Amanda & Ilario 10.27.07 {Defiance, Ohio}

Since yesterday was Ilario and I's Two Year Anniversary, I thought today would be the perfect Wedding Wednesday to share details from our big day with all of you! All images were captured by the amazing and talented Brandy J and Sticky of Brandy J Photography - since our wedding day we've become great friends with them. Brandy J and Sticky are not only talented photographers, they are truly great people!

The incredible Jordanne Clyde did my makeup that day - she's such a sweet and talented artist! I also personalized my wardrobe for the pre-ceremony preparations - you can get your own "Mrs." Hoodie at the Wedding Channel Store.

I designed all of our wedding stationery - below is a glimpse at our ceremony program. To see more of our stationery, check out the "amanda & ilario" page on baci's site.

My Touch Ups bridal shoes can be found at the Benjamin Walk Corporation - they were incredibly comfortable and affordable!
All wedding day flowers were ordered wholesale from FiftyFlowers.com. Two friends of the family and my mom assembled all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, altar decorations and centerpieces. My bouquet consisted of white tulips, white ranunculus, pearl-studded stephanotis and chocolate cosmos. The flowers were hand-tied with ivory ribbon and my late grandfather's rosary was gently placed in the bouquet. My silk shantung Watters gown was purchased and altered by the lovely ladies at Poffie Girls in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Our flower girls were absolute dolls - their dresses were purchased and altered at Bridal Village in Hicksville, Ohio near my hometown. The bridesmaids were asked to chose one of two styles of chocolate organza layered Watters gowns which were purchased online at NetBride.

I absolutely love this shot of our dads! On the right, my father is holding the ring bearer pillows, which were handmade by Ilario's sister.
The bridesmaid bouquets were made using white tulips, chocolate cosmos and peach roses.

Ilario and I during the "Ave, Maria" - my cousin Sophie brought everyone to tears with her beautiful voice.

Our adorable nephew, Grant! All tuxedos were rented at Men's Wearhouse.
Ilario and I heading out of the church as man and wife :) My floor length veil was hand stitched with our monogram at Poffie Girls - it was my absolute favorite piece I wore that day!

The whole bridal party in the cornfield across the street from the church - we had SO much fun!
A few hot, hot, hot creative portraits of us. . .

In downtown Defiance, the annual Halloween parade was about to commence so we stopped and took a few fun pictures in front of the fried cheese stand!
Ilario and I during our first dance. . . I love the glow of the lights and tulle strung from the ceiling.

We certainly didn't skimp on desserts on our wedding day - coming from two generations of women who bake for a living, it wasn't hard! My grandmother baked our cake and my full-of-talent mother decorated it, she also baked and assembled the "10.27.07" cupcakes. Our aunts and Ilario's mom each made a favorite cookie recipe to add to the dessert buffet.
Ilario's friend, Ashley, created our beautiful toasting flutes and gave them to us as an engagement present - they added a very special touch to our day.
