DEADLINE EXTENDED!! It's that time again! We're hiring an intern!

If you've always found yourself interested in all the beautiful things that are part of the wedding industry this is the right place for you.  We pride ourselves on being incredibly "coastal" with our creations and our small business thinking - we'd love to have you along for the ride!

Here's the breakdown:

1} This is an unpaid internship. However, the interns will be reimbursed for any Baci-related driving done with their own personal vehicles (prepare yourself - there are a lot of errands to run in preparation for Handpicked!).

2} This position will require presence in both Baci's home studio (in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) and at assistant stylist Brigit's home (in Akron, Ohio.) Approximately 1 day a week at each location with some satellite work from your home (and some late night crafting) depending on the current work load.

3} We are interested in a graphic design intern - The intern will be responsible for creating many of the Handpicked graphics and stationery pieces. You will get to be a part of our daily business and learn the in's and out's of how Baci works, as well!

4} The position will begin the week of February 2nd February 16th and run until the beginning of May. The deadline for application is Friday, January 23rd Monday, February 2nd. That week we will begin contacting candidates we are interested in to schedule interviews.

5} We are looking for someone who's fun and easy to work with who also has the following qualities:

An Independent Worker - We cherish the time spent teaching our interns, but we also have to get things accomplished ;o)
An Organization Nerd - Putting together an event like Handpicked while maintaining regular business requires loads of organization.
A Creative and Crafty Soul - We love out of the box thinkers who can create right alongside Martha!
A Social Networking Guru - Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram - you name it, we use it and you'll be expected to ;o)
A Google Applications Expert - We use Google to run pretty much everything around here.
A Practiced Blogger User and Well-executed Writer - You will be expected to come up with unique and well-written blog posts throughout the duration of the internship.
A Skilled InDesign/Illustrator/PhotoShop Artist - These are incredibly important in Baci's studio.  We aren't saying you have to be a genius in all Adobe design products, but having a working knowledge of them is incredibly important.
*An Outgoing Personality - Wall flowers not need apply!  This environment is fast and fun - the more energetic and confident you are, the more you will benefit from it.  You'll be calling up local businesses searching for specific design elements, stopping in coffee shops to hang promotional fliers, chatting it up with brides-to-be and mingling with some of the most talented vendors in the area - all in a day's work :o)  You will be on a new adventure every day, so being up for a challenge is a definite bonus!

And a few more "musts":
Must LOVE Weddings!!
Must spell stationery correctly - Look it up if you're not sure. I promise I won't even finish reading your resume if you don't.
Must love Morris the Cat - This cat loves to test our interns, but they always end up loving one another by the end of the semester!
Must be able to deal with the random happenings of parents with a toddler and baby - Our little guys won't be working alongside us often, but the life of working parents is never dull, lol!
Must provide own reliable transportation and laptop computer

If you feel like we were just describing you (it's like we're in your brain, right?!?!) and you're interested in applying for Baci's 2015 Spring Internship - please send your resume and cover letter to info@bacidesigner.com with the subject line "2015 Spring Intern" by the end of the day Friday, January 23rd.

Please feel free to share this posting as well!  Thanks, we look forward to hearing from you soon!

The Search is On - We're Hiring Two 2104 Summer Interns!

We're happy to announce we'll be hiring not just one, but TWO 2014 Summer Interns!!  We're switching things up a bit this year because after having two interns during Handpicked last year we realized it is a MUST (yep, that means Handpicked will happen again this summer and you'll get to be an integral part of it!!) and because Amanda is going to pop out a baby at the beginning of the Fall semester (and no one wants to be present during the first few months she officially has TWO children under two!!).

Anyway, now that you understand the why, here is what we're looking for :o)  If you've always found yourself interested in all the beautiful things that are part of the wedding industry this is the right place for you.  We pride ourselves on being incredibly "coastal" with our creations and our small business thinking - we'd love to have you along for the ride!

Here's the breakdown:

3} We are interested in graphic design and wedding styling interns - someone interested and talented in both departments is great!  We will be hiring one intern for each category.  The graphic design intern will be responsible for creating many of the Handpicked graphics and stationery pieces.  The wedding styling intern will assist with the design and implementation of the event as a whole.  Both interns will get to be a part of our daily business and learn the in's and out's of how Baci works, as well!

4} The positions will begin in mid-May and run until mid-July. The deadline for application is Monday, April 7th. That week we will begin contacting candidates we are interested in to schedule interviews.

*An Outgoing Personality - Wall flowers not need apply!  This environment is fast and fun - the more energetic and confident you are, the more you will benefit from it.  You'll be calling up local businesses searching for specific design elements, stopping in coffee shops to hang promotional fliers, chatting it up with brides-to-be and mingling with some of the most talented vendors in the area - all in a day's work :o)  Interns will be on a new adventure every day, so being up for a challenge is a definite bonus!

Caitlin's Current Wish List | Fall Fashions

Hello there! I'm Caitlin, the new Baci Intern and I'm really excited to be getting my start in event planning here at Baci Designer. I'm a recent graduate from Wilmington College and am eager to start my career.

My first blog post will be a wish list of fall apparel! Which means it's time to bust out those super cute cardigans and boots, Ladies :) Lately, vintage inspired fashions have become a huge hit and I totally agree! That's why I have chosen the products in this wish list. They are modern designs with a vintage twist. Enjoy!

1. This mint and brown handbag was my inspiration for the whole wishlist! It's so feminine and functional at the same time.
2. These boot socks are a brilliant idea and the lace and buttons at the top are to die for! As much as i wear my fall riding boots, I should definitely invest in a pair of these socks :)
3. I am all about lace these days! This white lace blazer ads softness to an otherwise very structured look.
4. These mint earrings top off the outfit especially if you're sporting the mint handbag as well. They are very vintage!

A baci Update | Northwest Ohio Stationery, Event Design + Planning

Hello there!  Amanda here giving a very much needed update on what's been keeping us busy.  We apologize for the lack of posts recently, but we promise to return things to normal this week. . . and you'll probably get a few bonus posts that we meant for last week, but didn't make it because we were running around like crazy people :o)  Well, here's what we've been up to:

1}  Not only did we say au revoir to Intern Brittany at the beginning of May (did you wish her a huge congratulations on graduating?!?!?), but we've also been slowly saying goodbye to Caroline, our Assistant Designer/Planner and Photographer.  Caroline took on more responsibility at her full-time job (you go, Girl!) so sadly she had to leave baci :o(  We wish both Brittany and Caroline the best of luck and have been so happy to work with them both!

2}  In more graduation news, our own Ilario finished his Master's Program at The University of Akron at the beginning of May!!  I couldn't be more proud of my handsome hubby :o)

3}  We recently released our brand new shirley | edith Father's Day Card (and will have another new release in a few weeks!) - don't you just love it?!?!

The gorgeous Rachel and I at the NOTO Fashion Show!
4}  On Saturday, May 5th, I attended the NOTO Fashion Show with a few friends and had the seriously the best time ever!!!  Shirley | edith even made an appearance in the swag bags at the show!

Tea Party Family Photo Shoot by JaNicki Photography
5}  The following day, I assisted Margaret of JaNicki Photography with a super fun Tea Party-themed family photo shoot.  I designed some fun stationery and helped Margaret style the set up at Indigo Lake - it turned out amazing and we had a wonderful time!!

6}  Last week we wrapped up our first wedding stationery of the season - Lyndsi and Wesley's beach-themed suite is gorgeous and I can't wait to share!  In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek ;o)

Sketches from our Styled Bridal Shower Shoot - Image by JaNicki Photography
7}  I also put baci's very first coordination of a styled shoot on the books last week with Arielle Doneson Photography, JaNicki Photography, Studio MC, MC Hair Consultants, NOTO, Hodge Podge Vintage Rentals and West Side Bakery (plus 6 gorgeous models!!).  Being able to work with so many talented and amazing local women was a dream come true - I absolutely can not wait to share everything with all of you!!

8}  I've been busy working with the talented Lindsay of Lindsay Marie Photography on a new look for her brand - I can't wait to see what we come up with!

9}  This past weekend we celebrated my Mom's 50th Birthday and Mother's Day with some of my favorite women (Shirley and Edith - lol!).  I feel so blessed to have so many inspiring ladies in my life :o)

Just a quick recap of what we've been working on, you're bound to see a lot more details on these fun projects soon!!  Thanks for your patience :o)

Products We Love | Brittany

Products I Love

Crest 3D White Whitestrips Vivid Teeth Whitening System
This is an actual picture of me! :)

One of the best products I use is Crest White Strips.  I know it's a common item, but I absolutely love these and they work so well!  Some people worry because they hear the strips make your teeth sensitive - if that's you, just don't leave them on for as long!  I use the cheapest ones that you leave on your teeth for 30 minutes, and I usually only leave them on for 20 minutes so my teeth don't get sensitive.  These help make my teeth the pearly whites I need them to be!

Another one of my favorite products is my Victoria's Secret Amber Romance Fragrance Mist.  It's what I use for my perfume, and even though it's essentially a body spray, it works wonders for perfume and it's much cheaper!  I love it because it lasts all day, and I get so many compliments on it! :)

Brittany's Wish List | Graduation

With less that 2 months until graduation, (AH!) I've put together a few items that might help me out with my future endeavors!

1) Sony Cyber-Shot 14.1 - Megapixel Digital Camera - Pink from Sony - $119.99 - After four long years, my poor old camera probably needs a replacement.  Over 4000 pictures can do a lot to ya...
2) Personalized Cosmetic Bag - Pink Waffle Weave from PersonalizationMall.com - $19.95 - I should probably look more professional when I travel and have my cosmetics in something nicer looking than my High School Musical pencil case; even if Zac Efron will always have my heart. :)
3) Lenox Picture Frame, Best Wishes Graduation from Macy's - $29.99 - Since my apartment is already completely filled with pictures of all my memories, I'm going to need a graduation picture frame - I mean obviously. :)
4) Pamper Her Spa Gift Tower from 1800baskets.com - $69.99 - After I come to the full reality that I'm in the real world now and will no longer be able to sleep in til 10 am, take 3 hour naps in the middle of the afternoon and go places in my sweats - I'm going to need a night of relaxation.

baci's baking | Ritz Cracker Fluff

Hey everyone! I’m Brittany, baci’s new intern, and I wanted to jump at the opportunity to provide you all with one of my favorite recipes for my first blog post! :) My Aunt Mary gave me the recipe for Ritz Cracker Fluff, which besides being absolutely delicious is a great dessert for any occasion! It’s super easy to make too!

Ritz Cracker Fluff

Ingredients:
2 Rolls of Ritz Crackers
1 Stick of Margarine (melted)
¾ Tablespoon of Sugar
2 Small Boxes of Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 Cup of Milk
1 Quart of Vanilla Ice Cream
1 Tub (8 oz) of Cool Whip

Directions:
1. Crumble Ritz Cracker rolls and put into a 13 x 9 pan. Be sure to save a small amount of the crumbled Ritz Crackers to sprinkle on top at the end.
2. Add the sugar and margarine and mix into the crumbled crackers.
3. Make the instant vanilla pudding, but instead of the 2 cups of milk specified on the pudding box, use 1 cup of milk and the quart of ice cream. Mix together the vanilla pudding mix, milk and ice cream. (You may have to soften the ice cream to mix.)
4. Spread the pudding onto of the crumbled Ritz Cracker in the pan.
5. Once you spread the pudding, put the Cool Whip on top of the pudding. Spread the Cool Whip evenly over the entire pan.
6. Sprinkle the remaining crumbled Ritz Crackers you had left over on top of the Cool Whip.

And you’re all done! :) You can serve it right away, however I recommend refrigerating it at least an hour before serving. This will allow the pudding to thicken up and everything to settle. The dish must be kept in the refrigerator when not being served.

I hope you enjoy Ritz Cracker Fluff as much as I do, and I look forward to future blog posts for you all!
